In 1990 I took a jewellery making course in Kitchener, Ontario from a local silver smith. I was immediately smitten by the satisfaction that comes from creating original pieces of jewellery from raw materials.
While I pursued a career in Social Services, the call to create jewellery remained. In 2008, I heeded the call of the muse and took more courses through Conestoga College in Kitchener. I then decided to pursue a more formal and intense program of study enrolling in the jewellery program at The Haliburton School of the Arts in 2010. The curriculum at Haliburton focused on the essentials of the craft such as; Forming, Fabrication, Surface Decoration, Chain Making, Casting, and Stone Setting.
