Ted Sivell

These pieces have been put together over the last few years using a variety of materials. Terra cotta in the first two and hand modelled lightweight cement for the rest.

The concrete mix I've been developing is an attempt to keep the spontaneity and freedom of form that makes building forms up by hand so enjoyable and at the same time to get away from the various constraints that kiln firing imposes. The concrete pieces can also be much lighter, depending on what mix is used, which is a consideration as I get older.
